HISTORY
In 1981, BCIC – BMW Clubs International Council was founded.
The BCIC – BMW Clubs International Council is an independent entity from BMW Group, has its own statutes, and is headquartered in the BMW Classic Building in Munich, Germany. It remains as it was when it was originally conceived and founded in 1981 by Helmut Werner Bonsch and Dr. Horst Avenarius.
The BCIC – BMW Clubs International Council serves as an interface between BMW Group (BMW Classic), BMW Club Federations, BMW Clubs/Chapters, members/partners/associates of official BMW clubs who own BMW cars or motorcycles, and BMW agencies/importers/subsidiaries around the world, maintaining a productive and friendly working relationship.
The BCIC – BMW Clubs International Council is composed of 20 delegates (16 seats from the Federations and 4 seats from BMW Classic), with the regional composition determined by their number of members.
In 2011, BCIC – BMW Clubs International Council celebrated its 30th anniversary, always promoting its annual meeting of official BMW Club Federations in Europe or in another country of one of its 20 delegates, held in September/October.
Approximately 40 representatives from the BMW Club Federations and BMW Classic gather at the annual BCIC – BMW Clubs International Council meetings. They form a powerful voice and represent an important link between BMW Group’s relations with BMW Club Federations, BMW Clubs and their Chapters, BMW Enthusiast Associates, and BMW agencies/importers/subsidiaries.
